Sequoia Camping Trip-2019

Join young adults in California’s Central Valley for a regional event. We look forward to a time of intentional Christian fellowship while enjoying God’s majestic creation in Sequoia National Park.

We will be camping (tents only) at Lodgepole Campground which is next to Lodgepole Village. Services at the village include a market, deli, gift shop, showers, and laundry.

Please register by Friday, August 2 (use the link below) so we know to plan on you. We ask that you pay $15 for site reservation fee and meals (see Payment details below). Space is limited so sign up today!

For those traveling from other regions, we are able to host you in Visalia on Saturday night. We invite you to worship with us on Sunday morning.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE

Friday
Arrive and check-in: after 4 PM
Dinner & Devotions: 6-7 PM
Free Time: after 7 PM

Saturday
Optional Morning Hike: 6-8 AM
Breakfast: 8 AM
Free Time: 9-11 AM
Pack up and check out: 11 AM-12 PM
Lunch and Hike: 12-4 PM
Return to Visalia: after 4 PM

Remember to bring:
-All your camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, chair, etc.)
-Weather appropriate clothing
-Plenty of water
-Snacks
-Money for park entrance fee ($35/vehicle, carpooling encouraged, parking is limited)

Beach Day

Saturday, July 13, 2019 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Join young adults in the Southern California region to enjoy a day of sunshine, ocean breeze, and intentional Christian fellowship at Huntington Beach. Tentative activities include swimming, beach volleyball, the HB pier, and a bonfire!

Please register by Tuesday, July 9 so we know to plan on you (use the link below).

Remember to bring:
-towel
-sunscreen
-beach games
-money for food and beach day use fee ($15/vehicle)
-snacks, water
-weather appropriate clothes for the evening

We will meet at Huntington City Beach between lifeguard stations 9 and 11. Please note parking is limited.

Join young adults in California's Central Valley for a joint regional event. We look forward to a day of Christian fellowship while enjoying God's majestic creation. Please register by Saturday, June 1 so we know to plan on you. We ask that you pay for your own meals and bring a $10 bill for gas to pay those who will be driving. For those traveling from southern California, we are able to host you in Visalia. Please let us know in the registration form by following the link below.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE 
Depart from Trinity URC (Visalia) and Zion URC (Ripon): 6 AM 
Arrive at Yosemite National Park: 9:30 AM 
Hike: 10 AM - 5 PM (please pack your lunch) 
Eat in Yosemite Valley: 5 PM - 6 PM 
Return home: 6 PM - 9 PM 

We plan on hiking from Glacier Point down to Yosemite Valley via the Panorama Trail. The 8.5 mile trail is scheduled to take 6-8 hours and is rated as strenuous. For a complete description of the trail, maps, etc. see https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/glacierhikes.htm

Remember to bring: 
- a good pair of shoes

Truth and Consequences Seminar

"On March 2, join Drs. Albert Mohler, Stephen Nichols, and Burk Parsons for Truth and Consequences as they equip Christian college students and to defend the claims of Christianity, to explain to non-Christians that Jesus is the only way of salvation, and to know Him more fully."

WCRF is organizing a group of young adults to attend this free seminar. It takes place on the USC campus from 9 AM to 12 PM. . 

We plan on going to Denny's (3740 S Crenshaw Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90016) as a group after the seminar to enjoy some fellowship. We are also coordinating hosts from the area for those that wish to stay overnight on Friday or Saturday.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE MARCH 1-3
- Arrive Friday night (optional)
- Attend seminar at USC on Saturday morning from 9 AM - 12 PM
- Lunch at Denny's afterward from 12 PM to 2 PM
- Return home or coordinate plans with host (optional)
- Attend local church on Sunday morning (optional)

- notebook, pen, etc.

- sleeping bag (if you're staying the night)

LOCATION: Threads of Love Thrift Store at 2121 E Tulare Ave, Tulare, CA 93274
DESCRIPTION: We will meet the Threads of Love Thrift Store at 2pm. We'll load up pickup trucks and make a few deliveries. 
NEEDED: Pickup trucks, strong backs, kind hearts

BONFIRE:
Dinner & Fellowship

DESCRIPTION: Enjoy dinner and fellowship. We'll have Chili for dinner around 5:30pm and S'mores for dessert.
